The 2 brown and white Tube Beads are A special Wood, and the square Stone and the two green Stones I don't know. I got kicked out smack on 4pm, which was their closing time and they were'nt going to let me stay 1 minute over. So I quickly grabbed another 3 Jars with Gems and took them to the counter and of course I forgot to write down the names of the items I didn't know. I'll have to remember to take them with me next time I go to Brisbane, so I can find out what they are.
A couple of weekends ago I accompanied my Housemate, who is a Removalist, on one of his trips to Brisbane. He did'nt have an Offsider, so I decided to go with him to make sure he would'nt fall asleep at the Wheel. He does 20-22 hour stints a day on these trips and I cant help but worry. Travelling over 1000km to Brisbane is rather boring, but I took my trusty Wire, a few Stones and some Tools and was occupied at least through the daylight hours. On the second day my Housemate did his loading and unloading and I visited one of my favourite Bead and Lapidary Stores in Brisbane, where I spend six hrs happily gathering new Treasures. I decided to go for some Man Made Beads which I had seen on a previous trip, but did'nt have the time to really pay any attention to. And these are the Beads I came home with.

I named this Necklace Xylina, which is greek for"Of The Woods", because the Focal always reminds me of a Forrest.Its an awesome Yellow Turquoise Jasper and let me tell you, the Photo does'nt do it justice. The neck is surrounded by Pine Jasper Spheres and its finished with handcrafted natural Copper. It was quite a challenge trying to make all the Copper Links the same. Not as hard as weaving the Copper around the Spheres though. The gauge Wire I used was really to large, but makes for a very strong design. This Necklace will outlast all of us lol

Mirabelle is Latin/French meaning "Of Wondrous Beauty". I gave this Necklace its name because the Focal is a beautiful Wonderstone and I think it is very deserving of that description and at 600mm long, it certainly makes its presence known.It is accompanied by exquisite twisted Wood Jasper, black Agate, gold Ovals and little gold Spacer Beads. Alani is a Hawaiian name and it means "Orange". Hmmm...I wonder why I picked that name for this cute little Necklace. A lovely Carnelian Focal from Brazil with a very interesting Quartz Pattern, two orange Botswana Agates surrounded by some Carnelian Buttons, a whole lot of Carnelian Ovals, highlighted by Tibetan Silver Beads and a Sterling Silver Clasp. Zigana is a hungarian Girls name and means Gypsy Girl. This is definitely the one that took the longest to make and actually started out completely different to the end result, as most of my Pieces seem to do. I start out with an idea and the Stones seem to take on a will of their own. Its kind of like THEY tell me where THEY want to be, and not the other way around. Since this seems to be a regular occurrence, I now know not to think to much about what I might like to create. Instead I sit in front of all my Treasures and look at them, until something jumps out at me, and I know its time for that Stone to start a new journey. I never get sick of gazing at these wonderes Creations our Earth has hidden, for us to discover, and I do have some favourites that have told me many times that they are ready, but I am just not ready to find out where their journey is ment to take them.
The Focal Beads in this Necklace are Howlite, there are a lot of gorgeous faceted rich pink Zed, stunning deep red 6mm Carnelians, Hematite, Pewter and Sterling Silver. In all there are 182 Beads to complete this striking Necklace. Definitely not for the faint hearted ;)

You cant even tell your wearing it, it is so light.The Fan is made of highly polished and beautifully crafted Blackstone. Edana is Celtic and it means "fiery" like the colors of this Set, consisting of a Necklace, Earrings and Bracelet. The Focal is a 40mm Agate with the most amazing Pattern. Then there are six sided Sponge Coral Tubes and 8mm Sponge Coral Beads. The accent Beads are beautiful Pewter Sphere's. The Cones are also Pewter and the Lobster Clasp is Sterling Silver. Rhea is greek and means Earth. Very fitting for this very earthy Necklace. Jasper...what an amazing Stone. ..so many Colors...so many Patterns. The Stone in this Pendant is a Landscape Jasper and the Rice Beads are Desert Jasper. Are'nt they amazing? There is also a beautiful,shiny Biwa Pearl and a Cinese Fresh Water Pearl all wrapped up in Sterling Silver. Pippi is french for "rosy cheeked".Oh so sweet pink Ice Flake Quartz Crystal Nuggets with little Copper Beads between each Crystal, two Copper Focals with a lovely Scroll Pattern and a Copper S Clasp to finish the Necklace.The "Crackle" effect is achieved by heating the Crystal and then rapid cooling .
Quite a simple design, but very Eye catching.
